RIBBIT is a massive variety mod based on Deltarune Chapter 1, that tells an entirely new story about frogs, ghosts, and the strange powers that surround them both. Half a joke mod, half a character-driven mystery narrative, it is an experiment in seeing just how far Deltarune modding could be taken during the 2019-2021 period, retaining Deltarune's familiar locations, while inserting new custom scenes and gameplay mechanics into them.

Though the characters may look similar, their new backstories and personalities are intended to treat them like someone you've never met before. The entire mod was built as a "new" experience, reusing Deltarune assets to convey a different, more surreal type of story.

YOU the Frog, the last of their kind, finds themselves abandoned at a nearby orphanage... for approximately six minutes before a strange girl (the first of her kind??) with glowing pink eyes shows up and drags them both down into an alternate realm filled with YOU's long-croaked frog ancestors. There, they find out that the realm has come under a devastating invasion of a bizarre breed of ghosts called the MOTHERSPAWNs, reducing most living creatures to ashes, their reach spread over most of the land, an apocalypse in the making.

Together, along with Prince Noyno and his barely sufferable ego, they embark on a mission to kill the two people responsible for the invasion... the ghosts of YOU and Susie's mothers. By the way, Lancer is also there, and he's got, like, muscles, just thought you should know that even though everyone is dead.

Features:

* Up to 8,000+ rewritten (if not expanded on) lines of dialogue, with more funny jokes than I could count when I was in 1st grade.

* Heavy emphasis on exploration. Discover new secrets, abilities, and easter eggs, with the exception of that one you won't know about EVER.

* A huge amount of coding changes and additions, including custom cutscenes, new minigames, perhaps even a special boss or two...? As the mod was a learning experience, the more you progress, the more you can tell we started going nuts.

* A higher level of challenge, with modified attacks, tougher obstacles, and lesser amounts of healing items. But if you're not into that, there's an easier difficulty setting too!

* Additional accessibility settings for the photosensitive, hearing impaired, an invincible mode, and two soundtracks to choose from. The ALTERNATIVE soundtrack was made for YouTubers and streamers, so your playthrough doesn't get blocked in New Zealand, and just New Zealand for some reason.
