What do you think?

Are you planning on making Scratcher's Fright 2 Remake

It’s been a while since I last played a fnaf fan game has me flicking through cameras and moving my mouse around like crazy while also creating strategies like I’m playing a all max mode. And on a extra note, this is a wonderful remake from the original! It clearly shows your improvement over the years and I wish you luck on any future projects you may have planned.

It's HIGHLY recommended that you play the base game first before playing the Remix DLC as it expands on the original and has quite the difficulty spike!

Here it is! The REMIX DLC for Scratcher's Fright: Remake! It greatly expands on the Custom Night of the base game, adding plenty of features such as a battle pass system dubbed 'The Fright Pass', new unlockable characters, skins for the base roster, new cheats and challenged, combos, and more! Here are the specifics:

  • The Fright Pass - This is a battle pass system which allows you to unlock the majority of the features in this list. By playing custom night Shifts, you earn XP which can level you up through the tiers. Through Challenges and Shift Combos, you can also earn XP bonuses to help speed you along!

  • Unlockable Characters - There are 6 brand new characters joining the SF:R roster, each of which will be unlocked at 10 tier intervals in the Fright Pass!

  • Remixed Mechanics - The base 12 characters from the original game have new Remixed mechanics! Each of them will have a brand new spin on their base game mechanic, such as Cortez now being able to attack the window which you must block with your new shutter door, or Dark Caleb being able to spawn anywhere in your office!

  • Character Skins - Skins, skins and more skins! The base 12 characters each have one basic, recolour skin as well as one special rare skin, all unlockable via the Fright Pass! The rare skins come with unique poses, voice lines, and effects!

  • New Cheats and Challenges - Alongside the 6 Cheats and Challenges in the base game, there is also 3 new Cheats and 5 new Challenges unlockable via the Fright Pass to help shake up your Shifts and provide XP bonuses.

  • New Shifts - All the old Shifts in the original game are carried over, but there will also be a collection of brand new Shifts as well as harder difficulties of existing Shifts! Some will only include the base 12 characters, while others will include the 6 new characters and become available once you have the required characters unlocked!

  • And More! - There's a load more stuff to unlock in the Fright Pass too, such as desk plushies, character logs that expand on lore, and new music tracks!

After many months in development, it's finally here! Thank you to everyone who's followed the teasers along the way!

'Scratcher's Fright: Remake' is a #fnaf #fangame based off of the original game 'Scratcher's Fright' (https://gamejolt.com/games/SF/440471). While it will still keep the original concept, many areas are massively overhauled. Character designs are updated, tweaks are made to the lore to fit in with the current timeline, visuals are upgraded, music is rescored and gameplay mechanics are redone. While most characters are returning, there are also a couple of new additions to the roster!

The year is 1986, the peak of animatronic entertainment. An old warehouse in Colorado is having multiple animatronics from various companies all across the US shipped there to be stored over the week. As the recently hired nightguard and with the help of Nathan (the friendly voice on the phone), you must make sure nobody gets in... or out. Each mascot, new or old, behaves very differently from one another. Learn their behaviour and stay determined so that you can survive the week...

title_3.png

Scratcher's Fright: Remake is based off the usual FNAF formula: survive through six nights by using tools in your office to survive animatronic characters. There are many tools to your disposal such as the very familiar camera system, flashlight and doors as well as vents to monitor, a music box to play, and even a basement floor! Two characters will activate every night, so it's important that you listen carefully to Nathan's instructions and learn their mechanics!

There are 12 characters in total, 6 of which can jumpscare and cause a game over, while the other 6 cause various distractions during your night. However, this does mean that there are times (especially in the custom night) where the tool that a distraction character disables has no repercussions, or there are no killer animatronics active to cause a game over. To solve this, we've thought of the Conscious Meter! Distraction characters not only distract/disable tools during your night, but will also drain your sanity.

What happens when it reaches 0? We'll let you find out yourself...

Scratcher's Fright: Remake comes with many cool features for you to find and complete!

  • 6 Nights - Grants a star upon completion

  • An unlockable Extras Menu where you can take a closer look at characters, view their jumpscares, and look at development of the game

  • Many Easter Eggs which can also be viewed on the Extras Menu - Grants a star once all of them have been found

  • Cheats/Challenges which can be activated to spice up your nights

  • A Custom Night where you can customise character AI and beat pre-defined Shifts - Grants a star once all of them except for the 12/20 modes have been beaten

  • 'Scratcher's Fright' Shift (12/20 Mode) - Grants a star upon completion

  • 'Scratcher's Nightmare' Shift (12/20 Mode but all Cheats are locked off and all Challenges are locked on) - Grants a special reward if anybody beats it!

--- VERSION 1.0.0 ---

FULL GAME RELEASE

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
--- VERSION 1.1.0 ---
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug where the door monitors don't disappear when returning to the front of the office.
  • Fixed a bug where a door could be locked shut when it's door pressure runs out.
  • Fixed the 'Mis-Input' Extras challenge not mapping the keys correctly.
  • Fixed a typo on one of the Development slides in the Extras menu.
Changes
  • Shadow Sinful's speed while moving across the window has been slowed down.
  • Version 0 now activates a little later on Night 6 as he could sometimes activate while Nathan was still speaking.
  • The volume of Sinful and Cortez's running sound effects has been increased.
Misc
  • There is now a Google Doc available for all of the game's phone calls! Therefore, people who would prefer them in another language can google translate them!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

--- VERSION 1.2.0 ---

Bug Fixes

  • Most likely fixed an issue where Dolly flickers in and out in the office after she's found. I couldn't figure out what caused this, but I've put a few measures in place which hopefully fixed it. If not, then please let me know!

  • Fixed the Mis-Input challenge FOR REAL this time! The last patch was meant to fix it, but I didn't test it enough and I apologise for that. This time I've done plenty of testing and can confidently say that it's fixed!

  • Fixed an issue where Dolly would flicker in and out when blocking your monitor and your view was darkened by Version 0 or from the Conscious Meter running out.

  • Fixed an issue where holding SPACE just before opening the monitor would allow the player to keep the AC on while on the cameras.

  • Fixed an issue where Version 0's fade to black wouldn't fade correctly after deactivating him a second time in the night.

  • Fixed an issue where the game's background would awkwardly vanish during the fade into the Game Over screen.

  • Fixed an issue where a Dark Caleb voice line would sometimes play at the beginning of a night.

  • Fixed an issue where Dark Caleb would still kill you while in the middle of the monitor/turning animation.

Changes

  • The Pippie's Hungry easter egg no longer appears in the office alongside Dark Caleb. This not only fixes a layering issue with the two, but also means people are less likely to miss it.

  • Cortez can no longer kill you while the door is in the middle of it's closing animation. While this wasn't a bug and was intentional, it didn't feel very good on the player's end.

  • J.4.C can no longer kill you while the vent cover is in the middle of it's closing animation. This is for the same reasons as Cortez's change.

  • Changed the turning/vent door closing animations so that they don't go over the top of the icons. This should generally make the game feel a bit cleaner.

  • Increased the brightness of Dolly's renders when she is hiding behind you in the office. Some people really struggled to find her so this should make her clearer to see.

  • Decreased Dark Caleb's reaction times when on a higher difficulty. On 20 AI, you used to have 1.6 seconds to react to him but now you only have 1 second. It was clear that Dark Caleb was way too easy on 20 difficulty so this should make him a bit more of a challenge.

  • Decreased Dolly's countdown on higher difficulties. Her countdown used to range from 19 seconds on 1 AI to 10 seconds on 20 AI. Now it ranges from 20 to 8 seconds. When you learnt all her hiding spots, Dolly became incredibly easy. This should make her more of a challenge, similar to Dark Caleb. This also means her "20" voice line can actually be heard!

  • The left and right door buttons can no longer be held down. This would cause the door to open and close rapidly, which looked a little silly and could potentially cause some unknow bugs so I thought it'd be safer to remove.

Additions

  • New character mugshots on the Custom Night Menu when their AI is set to 20.

  • The Custom Night Menu now comes with an option to toggle on character mechanics. When this is on, hovering over each character's icon will show a small popup that explains their in-game mechanic!

  • The Cheats/Challenges tab on the Custom Night Menu now comes with a small note which clarifies that their descriptions can be found in the Extras Menu. Some people checked out the Custom Night first and became confused what they did, so hopefully this note should clear it up.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
--- VERSION 1.2.1 ---
Changes
  • Performed a lot of optimisation on the game which has reduced it's overall file size and, hopefully, some of it's memory usage. This was done by cutting unused files that were still leftover from development, slightly compressing audio files, cutting down some ambience tracks, and converting some vector images to bitmaps.
  • Added a sound effect when clicking the button to close a door (the most craziest change, I know. It just feels a lot better now).
  • Updated the 'Things Never Change' Custom Night Shift:
    • Decreased Version 0's AI from 20 to 10
    • Increased Caleb's AI from 10 to 15
    • Increased Dolly's AI from 5 to 10
  • Updated the 'Lights Out' Custom Night Shift:
    • Increased Hoodie's AI from 10 to 20
    • Increased Broken Bunny's AI from 0 to 5
--- VERSION 1.1.0 ---
Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug where the Desk Plushies are layered incorrectly behind the window.
  • Fixed a bug where the Door Pressure Monitors sometimes display incorrectly.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed you to take Rose's music box outside of the back of the office.
  • Fixed a bug where Sinful only attacks through the vents when performing his security mode.
Changes
  • Increased the reaction time to close the shutter door on Cortez when he's smashing the window from 2 to 2.5 seconds.
  • Added an extra slide to the Tutorial that explains saving your game, just in case people don't realise that they have to manually save now.
  • Made some changes to door and office animations so that they (hopefully) run a little smoother, but hasn't been tested enough to tell if it makes a difference for people who lag more.
  • Performed some optimisation updates, slightly lowering the game's file size.
  • (UNLOCKABLE CHARACTER 1 SPOILER) - Changed Unlockable Character 1's chances of appearing per hour depending on their A.I. On 20, rather than being guaranteed to attack every hour, they now have a chance to attack every 1 to 2 hours.
SCRATCHER'S FRIGHT: REMIX IS HERE!
ENJOY LEVELLING UP YOUR FRIGHT PASS! :D
(The Gamejolt page has been updated with more info on the DLC too!)
I know it's been a while, but I hope you've all been enjoying the REMIX DLC!
Now there are some memory/lag issues with the game, and I will be slowly working on a low-memory version. It may take me some time though...
If you find any bugs, let me know!
The Version 1.1.0 patch is here! A couple characters have been nerfed alongside some optimisation and bug fixes!
I'll be looking at making a low-memory version of REMIX without the skins soon so that more people can load it.
Patch notes are below
v v v
Update: The patch is coming out tomorrow instead... I can't even load the game to test the changes, and I've been working on this way too much recently.
Hello! I hope you've all been enjoying REMIX (for the people that can even load it...).
I'm gonna be putting out a patch today for some pretty big bugs that have been found, plus I might make a low memory version for people who can't load it.
