What do you think?

Is there still rape in the lore?

So, as of the time of writing this, I've completed Nights 1-9 and so far I've had quite a good time with the game. The gameplay is fundamentally the same which I enjoy, the visuals look 100x better then the original game, the art on the loading screens is fantastic, the new characters added was a pleasant surprise and kept me interested to see what else the game would throw at me, and Garvey was absolutely improved in his writing. Overall, a very good remaster of Dormitabis imo. Though that's not to say it's perfect as I do have a fair few gripes with the game. A lot of these are admittedly minor but they do result in the game feeling a bit less polished then what would've been preferred. I will point them out now:

  • Havoc Freddy no longer bangs on the window like he did in the og game. Thankfully Havoc BB & JJ do bang on the window but I find it slightly odd why Freddy no longer does. No big deal ofc, just found it odd.

  • It would be nice if the settings in the Options saved upon exiting the game. Again very minor but it is mildly annoying having to go into the Options every time.

  • The screen quickly fades to black upon seeing Golden Call in the window but doesn't when seeing Havoc Puppet. Once again minor but feels oddly inconsistent.

  • A couple stuff I noticed in the Tutorial menu. Firstly it doesn't state with Havoc Foxy that you have to move to the other side of the desk to fend him off. Springlich's name is also misspelled as Spring-Lich (unless this one's intentional). Lastly the Back button has a bad case of consistently wanting to disappear for a few seconds upon backing out from a character tutorial.

  • Springlich's jumpscare is noticeably absent from the Jumpscare section in the Extras (Idk if Dawnbreaker has a jumpscare as I never died to him but if he does his is missing too). As well as this you can see Garvey's icon in the Jumpscare tab even before completing Night 10, despite you not being able to view his jumpscare yet (trying to select his jumpscare prior to unlocking him also results in not being able to replay the B.O.A's jumpscare and needing to go back to the previous scare).

  • Whilst for most of my playthrough I didn't have any problems with the game's balancing, I did encounter an unwinnable scenario during my first attempt of Night 9 where I got ganged-up by Golden Call, Havoc BB & JJ, AMIREAL, Molten Evil, and Springlich. Springlich would be the one to end up killing me because I simply couldn't get to him in time. I do think making certain characters not be able to attack at certain times would be nice (or maybe making enemies leave quicker if someone else arrives), 'cuz I do love the thrill of being attacked by multiple enemies at once, but not if it's a completely unwinnable situation.

So yeah. I do very much enjoy this remaster of Dormitabis and I think if some of these goofs were fixed (especially in terms of additional balancing) then this would be an improvement from the original game in basically every way. But I still want to applaud everyone who worked on the game, it's nice to be able to play a version of Dormitabis that doesn't have Garvey's bullshit. I always love to see a game be their best versions of themselves so do take my list of gripes as me wanting to help the game and not as me wanting to slander it. So uh, yeah.... peace!

EDIT: A good majority of these problems have since been fixed! Rejoice!

dont install CRAWLSPACE, It was released(unfinished) by some stupid hacker, that blackmails Bithell and it has virus in it hope I warned all of you (if the hacker deletes this commemt I will post this comment on all places I can think of and if the hacker wants to talk to me, than talk to me under this comment)

Glad to see the game in better hands
