Switching engines

Posted On 1/20/2010 By SAW_GameDesign

Recently through researching making games for mobile devices, in particular I was interested in GP2x Wiz, I came across GLBasic.  Its a language that is similar to basic but compiles into multiple OS, including GP2x, iPhone, Linux, Windows CE.

So I've begun translating some of my old projects into to see how things fare.  Things looked promising so I ended up purchasing a lite license so I can work on some 2d projects.

Programming with it is pretty simple, using what I've learned from past experiences I have successfully created some basic engines for an rpg and space shooter.  Sometime in the future I'll be converting my Lock-Map game and later on the road I'll see if I can manage Black Shadow.

BS would pretty much have to be started from scratch, where as lock-map is pretty easy to translate over and shouldn't take too much time.  However I would like to rehaul some of the graphical work and otherwise complete the game.  Some features may be added, like time and maybe some additional factors in game play.
