Ignore my reply from my first post. I found a way to jump over the boss.

Is there a tip for defeating the first boss? When he charges for you, you end up getting hit even if you're at the far left edge of the screen. If I try jumping over him, I get hit because he's too big to jump over without touching him. Then once I'm over I want to keep shooting him, but I can't turn around and shoot backwards, so I have to wait until he charges to the right and try jumping over him, but I always die trying to go over him. Suggestions: -If it's impossible to jump over him without getting hit, you should make him a little bit smaller so I can jump over. -Give the ability to turn around and shoot the other way, unless there is a way already that I don't know about.

That's one awesome game! I love the graphics, the sounds, and the game-play. It's tough to pull off an authentic retro feel to a game, and you did a good job. I also loved the parallax scrolling. It felt like I was playing a suped-up Atari game. The boss was challenging too. I died trying, but I'll give it another go. I'll keep this game in my best indie collection. 5/5
