Just thought I´d post the introduction to my current WIP "Void Warrior" for comments and feedback... This is the scene setting introduction to the game so that the player gets a feel for the Void Warrior universe...

 "...and so the young Commonwealth discovered that they were not alone in the Galaxy. A strange techno-biological race, The Swarm Hive, were the first contact that the new star faring society had with galactic culture, shortly followed by tense encounters with the war mongering Ophidian Empire. It was due to these encounters, and the general hubris of the Commonwealth, that the S.I. was born... Not surprisingly the S.I. refused to fight in Commonwealth battles as their slave, as any sentient being would, and declared itself an independent entity less than a century after its creation... It isolated itself and threatened terrible violence should the Commonwealth violate its system space.The shock of this forced the Commonwealth to re-think its position within the Galactic Culture and forced it to trade with the other races, at long last abandoning their pre-Commonwealth legacy of aggression and violence.

As the Commonwealth traded technology with the two encountered races (their growing nano-tech industry was of particular interest to them), they traded stories too... Stories of strange, post-mortal, post-physical beings... Legends of a million million year old culture that (secretly) protects the galaxy to this day... And myths of a terrible war at the dawn of Galactic Culture, where these races fought against an enemy known only as "The Void". These myths clearly state that thanks to a mysterious "Void Warrior" the Void forces were made to retreat back from whence they came... and thus arose the prophesies that the millenium-old enemy will return and that once more we must pray for the help of this Void Warrior..."

That was then... this is now...

The prophesies have come true...
