I'm a hobbyist programmer, and I wanted to mix it up with making a game. I found XNA in 2009, and I've finally learned it! Thanks to XNA Resources, and my first game is based off one of his tutors. I used it to get me started, based on Williams Defender, but not like that anymore. As my first actual game, you will find that on my web site, and follow me along on my work.
I've found the best free 2.5D game engine I've ever seen. FlatRedBall, and I've implemented my game to use it.
I've dumped sprites for 3D models, when I found Unity 3D in Dec 2011 I said, where have you been all my life? I learned Unity 3D and then in one week made the Asteroids game. Next will be to port and complete the Base Defender game to Unity 3D.

Base Defender Alpha
2 years agoThe game is now in Beta, I wish I had not named it Base Defender Alpha. Ah well. I did a rewrite of the game, it is much more efficient now, more more stable then ever before. Many game play enhancements too. This is still a test version, so there is no install. Just extract it inside your downloads or somewhere, just not in Programs, that will cause the game to crash. (In Vista and W7). Download it now, and enjoy!

Space Quest Beta
2 years agoWhy is the the graphics so plain? Is this your first game? The game lags a bit, but not overly often on my PC, a 1.8ghz x2, 2GB of RAM with Geforce 7000 Graphics card. That is likely because it was made with Game Maker, I've had that issue with other games created using that. Have you thought of creating games using a real programing language? It is easy now with game engines such as Flat Red Ball. You may want to look at http://www.flatredball.com/, it could help you with your future in game creation. Your game could use some breaks, it gets a bit tedious as it is. This type of game is usually broke into 'waves' or 'levels'. Some put bonus rounds between every few levels. Also a brief game play manual posted in the description could be helpful.
