I make Flash games. I was trying to form a team to make the production process quicker, but it was more effort to find team members than it is to just make the stuff myself. In the end, it was just a waste of time, because everyone who offered help either quit or sucked so much I couldn't stand working with them.
I'm trying to move away from Flash. Actually, I'm trying to move away from Windows entirely. I'm more of a Linux person. I wish Unity was Linux friendly. Heck, I just wish I could play Unity games in Linux. I don't mind developing in Windows if I have to, but I really want to play in Linux. :)
I'm also slowly becoming more musical. I hope to never rely on anyone for any material in my games and be a true one-man team. It'll be awesome if that day ever comes.

Space: The Retribution
3 months agoWhy would you use a 3d framework for a 2d game? It seems like wasted resources. Aside from that, great game, I like it.

3 months agoThis looks really awesome, but I don't really have time for MMORPG type stuff, these days. I have this bookmarked for later.

3 months agoAt first, I thought the game was another (very) poorly made Asteroids clone, but I found my way out of the barrier (thankfully), and I was glad to see this is something else. The loading time is terrible. If not for that, the game could be bearable, but the wait isn't justified, because the game isn't even fun for me. The Asteroids part is poorly made and very deceiving and just doesn't seem necessary. The actual game turned out to be a very basic platformer with odd controls. (Why doesn't the up arrow jump? Or space? Why s?) I also think some direction could help throughout the game. I went left on the first screen and saw a bunch of platforms, so I tried a jump and died (because I didn't know the jump button), and when I died, I started over, at the ship, and I just headed right. I saw that s jumps and continued on the path. I landed on what I then thought was an oddly shaped rock and died and started over again. Stop sending the player back to the first screen! It's annoying. I know this isn't complete, so I'll give it another try when it's finished, but until then, my score has to be low, because the game got on my nerves.

Hey, thanks for the offer regarding the game engines you've been developing. I'm no coder myself, but I would like to learn how to program in Flashdevelop with AS3 eventually... Don't know if my brain will allow that. Haha. I've got the tools needed (without actually using Flash), so now the challenge is just to find the time to learn, and see if I CAN learn...

There's nothing hard about the first screen. You drop down, wait by the wall for the spike wall to start retracting, follow it, rinse, and repeat. If you were playing on medium, then you have to shoot the save box as you advance along the bottom row because that spike wall will kill you repeatedly as you advance. Also, the entire purpose of the shooting is to hit save boxes, kill bosses and enemies, and, if you go down from the first screen, trigger the loose spike so you can land on it. There is nothing about the game meant to insult the player, just to give them a good challenge that can, at times, be frustrating. But it's not impossible, as someone even managed to beat the game on the &qu

Your comment about I Wanna Be The Guy makes no sense. From your comment, you never made it past the second screen in the game, so how would you know if the game is "totally insane" or not. Furthermore, obstacles like that apple are what make the game great- they slowly raise the difficulty and make every life a learning experience in the game. You have to remember what happens where and come up with strategies to overcome the deathtraps you've fallen to before. You didn't even try to play the game before commenting, so this should also be a learning experience for you.
