I think that the game could use some touching up, for one it doesn't feel right: when you jump it seems like you float of the ground, it doesn't seem controlled. another is that the collisions with upcoming walls that result in death have too large a collision box, and it suddenly heads to the score screen, no death display or anything

I agree with prince that it jumps from easy to difficult, but after playing a second time, I managed to get past the first challenge. Everything else was perfect, and even with the minor inconvenience for bullet-hell noobs like me its still worth what people place it as

This is most likely because you do not have Java installed on your computer. You could try downloading the ZIP file and running the run_win32.bat file and see if that is such the case. :)
