After falling over a waterfall you find yourself alone and trapped at the bottom of a chasm with nothing but the tattered clothes on your back.

In development, but fully playable with roughly 1 to 2 hours of gameplay so far.  The Chasm is a role-playing game in which you explore a huge area gathering together a group of followers along the way.  Encounter NPC's and a large variety of creatures to combat.  Engage in turn-based strategic combat with multiple factions.

I've played quite a bit of the Diablo series so perhaps a bit, but I'd say my biggest influence, at least for combat, is the strategic turn based combat in some of the old AD&D rpgs.

Really enjoyed this game, the sprites and art were well done, and the atmospheric and spatially-varying sound effects like waterfalls and cave drips really added to it as well :) Good luck on adding further to it.

Great concept, reminds me of chrono trigger. But lots of bugs, so I'll assume this an alpha version. Keep up the good work!!!

Really great! The atmosphere is amazing! Also nice feature: You can see equiped weapon. If you made every equiped item, it would be really great. Combat was interesting, it almost looks like real time combat! But you could polis the movement while fighting, because it was real pain, it's very hard to get close to enemy to melee it. And could you make monsters larger? I want to see what I am fighting. I'd also like bit improved character development. Some points to spend to upgrade your character or something. Maybe unlock spells? Anyway, 4/5!

Thanks for the comments and rating! I would like to show equipment in combat at least. For combat, I am planning on highlighting the area you can move and mobs you can attack and then you just click the area/mob.... also allow diagonal movement. I intentionally made the monsters small and feeble at the start so there is a sense of progression. By the end of the game there will be tons of gigantic mobs. There will be magic and different attack options in combat and also skill trees.

Just finished(I hope) my other game Regrowth yesterday so now I am going to focus on this. Planning to release a small update real soon.

How did you get this game to run on so many OSes?

Its made with pure Java so it should run on any OS that supports Java, mouse input and the display requirements. I use mainly Windows, but I've had a few people verify it runs on Linux and Macs.

Oh my god, I like where is this going! Keep up the development as I really see great potential here, I'm not a fan of seemingly turn based combat, but man, the game feels already great.
