You start off in a dungeon and never leave it. There is no town, there is no going back. The dungeon is your mind. A dark mentalist has caused you to enter an unwanted trans and your imagination takes you to a labyrinth like dungeon where you fight off monsters. Of course, your killing spree does not go unrewarded. Many items of varying rarity and power remain undiscovered by your mind, and you must use their potential to defeat the mentalist once and for all. A variety of skills can be found by any of the three character classes, but each of their passive skill tree differs a lot. Every time you play, a new dungeon layout is created, as you venture through six different zones...

This is Intellectual Property theft. Be warned.

Is that in regards to the art or the concepts? I am trying to find art to replace everything at the moment :)

As far as any sort of redistribution of art assets that belong to Blizzard is concerned - Intellectual Property theft is in question for certain. I'd be more careful mate - I'd also recommend working with placeholders that are from within the free domain - with a tiny bit of research many of these options will become apparent. This being said, good luck making this project your own.

This is an absolute ripoff of Diablo II. I'm a large fan of hack and slash and other genres, and even if they come to being borderline Diablo, I still let them pass off because everyone has their own way of presenting a genre. That includes making a game that comes close to other games created. A good example for this happening in movies is how everyone relates the new R.I.P.D. to Men in Black. Yes, they are similar, but that doesn't make them bad. This however, is bad. Changing the scenery, hud, characters, weapons, potions, and everything but certain monsters and the title screen would have made this game acceptable. What makes this game into such a tragedy is you stealing the characters and such from the game "Diablo II". That is a pathetic move to take as a developer. Take a common genre, or even an original one, and combine it with original ideas and you get the usual indie game. This has an original title screen... that's it. If you are truly looking to go into the field of game creation, selling, and such, do not plagiarize the work of other creators. That aside, the game is what would be normally expected from an indie game. Nothing stands out and it functions. If I sounded hostile, please take note that it is only to warn you that the path you would be on from the looks of this game will end you up on the streets due to a lawsuit from Blizzard. Take the time to create your own sprites, or grab some from a royalty-free website. Either way, you seem to have the knowledge to create a indie worthy game, you just need to take the time to be more original to stand out.

I understand your perspective from the outside, and would like to share mine, as well as propose my plan based off of your argument:

I am 17 years old and worked on this game alone. Making rpgs is my passion, but have no computer graphic talent. I thus resorted to "ripping" Diablo 2 so that I could express my iteration of the genre in a non-ugly way. I am fully aware that it is immoral to use these sprites, but would also like to point out that this game is not preventing any sales of Diablo 2.

However, you make a valid point and I will thus change all of the game sprites one bit at a time to prove myself. I will not let legal discrepancies get in the way of my dreams and thank you for your input. Although harsh, there is truth and appreciate the protective attitude you took towards my creation as your concern perhaps saved me from a lawsuit.

This game is so much fun! It's a really good arpg. It's cool to see new games in this genre pop up on indie sites.

Thanks to Sejemus and Wisheez's feedback, I am currently removing the ability for the dungeon to spawn monsters right at the beginning of the dungeon level!

Expect a patch in a couple of hours with a few other new features!

Thanks for the feedback! I understand the action rpg genre is a somewhat niche one, at least compared to fps' and whatnot. We really appreciate you giving it a try though!

What do you like in other types of games that you thought was missing from Lucid?

Well, the biggest problem is already mentioned. The mobs spawn way too fast and way too many at once, but that's not really what annoys me. It's not your game in particular, it's the rpg genre in general that bores me quickly. However, I am willing to give everything a try, someone might hit the path that I find interesting. But once again I wanna say that it's not your game that's wrong, it's just my opinion on rpg's in general :)

As long as I started I got assaulted by a thousand of monsters, that was quite impossible. But I love hack and slash games, and this one is really promising, keep it up!

Thanks for the feedback! We're currently monitoring the number of monsters at the start of levels, I'll make sure this can't happen anymore so the learning curve isn't so startling. We're also currently making a final boss battle as well as a story line to fit into the game.

The description of the game is Complete/Stable, but the name now clearly says that it is in Beta :)

ok, the game is a very intresting diablo clone. It's very difficult eaven in easy mode, i think you must consider new players learning curve, i never learn how to use healing potions because i always die while searching for the key on the keyboard... maybe we need a little tutorial part before jump into carnage. Also i report a little bug: sometimes the player spawn under an obstacle and get stuck.

Hi! Thanks for the feedback. We're currently still beta testing and agree that a tutorial is needed, as well as an easier learning curve. Thanks for the input!
