----------------------- Game Description From Irish Indie Bundle Presskit -----------
For too long the pool of casual games has been polluted with the stench of necrotic clones and cheap knock-offs! Enter Source Control, a tense, fast-paced, action-puzzle, gem-breaker game with an obvious difference. There are no gems!
Source Control is a hacking simulator where you must match wits with a sentient AI bent on world domination (perhaps). It’s your job to hack through its terminals, destroying data-nodes, attacking it with your Trojans and causing general mayhem. But be quick; you’re being back-hacked, and every move you make is being watched.
(Oh and did we mention the AI is evil? Because that’s kind-of important).
The talent at exGamers are playing fast and loose with the conventional 3-of-a-kind gem-breaker puzzle. They’ve put their heads together and come up with a novel concept…The 4-of-a-kind gem-breaker puzzle!
Think of a 4-dimensional Rubik’s cube….. Got it!?
Now think of a 4-dimensional Rubik’s cube in 2-dimensions…..simple right?
Good work guys! Now that’s putting those degrees to good use.
In Source Control all the brain-melting complexity of higher-dimensional space is made simple for the regular Smoes’. You can manipulate network-nodes by rotating them into place like a Rubik’s cube. By selecting and rotating several squares, you can move nodes from each terminal in order to line up 4-of-a-kind in the centre. Then sit back and watch the data fly!
At exGamers Studios their goal is to break the stagnation of the puzzle game genre by presenting unique interpretations of games that are plagued with pitiful knock-offs, then pumped back into the same pool. If you’re going to rip-off a game, you’d make damn sure it’s better than the original!
