The game is full of frightening scenes, random scares, and chilling ambient noises that you’re sure to feel down your spine. The game starts out with the kid sleeping peacefully with a low lit room. The kid wakes up to a demonic voice, leading into some odd noises, screams, and a power outage. With no power, the game will have lighting from a flashlight. The kid is frightened and worried that something may have happened to his parents, so he ventures off to learn what happened.

Made for the Game Jolt 8th Contest - Fear

Resolute Dark is a 3d horror game by Redev Games that puts the player in a kid’s shoes, experiencing various horrors in order to find his parents in the dark house. The game is full of frightening scenes, random scares, and chilling ambient noises that you’re sure to feel down your spine. The game starts out with the kid sleeping peacefully with a low lit room. The kid wakes up to a demonic voice, leading into some odd noises, screams, and a power outage. With no power, the game will have lighting from a flashlight. The kid is frightened and worried that something may have happened to his parents, so he ventures off to learn what happened.

There are some known bugs due to the timelimit that was given (one week).

Known Bugs : 

*The battery in the beginning won't disappear.

*The dining room chair is already in the correct position.

*The stool is already in the correct position.

With a great atmosphere, and a disturbing voice guiding you through the house, this game brings in some scares like it is nobody's business. However, poor pacing, and lack of....well a compelling environment kept me from enjoying this as much as I would like. Even though this game was created in a a week, bugs, and frame rate issues are still a major problem that need to be addressed, regardless. In addition, the volume on the voice was extremely low, leading to much confusion on where and how I was supposed to do things. All in all, this is an good game, scaring the shit out of me in some points, but very far from perfect.

I played this game for a new thing I'm doing on youtube, "Indie Game Showcase", and I had a good time! It was an incredibly unnerving atmosphere and I did NOT want to progress, heh...obviously like everyone else, I couldn't progress to the garage due to the bugs in the game, but it didn't ruin the experience for me at all. and at the end u should have him open he door and have him see his dead parents and start breaking down crying yelling I WANT MY MOMMY and that demon saying i know what would make it better, SLASH then end it that would be a scarier ending

the chair/cupboard glitch is still there great game maybe u should add dieing a little easier and a loud screaming noise ( idk if u already have that 'cause i havent died yet) but plz fix the chair glitch

Haha, yeah, I wish Pewdiepie would play our game. But before that happens, I would like to update the game, removing most of the bugs in the game. When that happens, I'll try to talk with him to see if he can do a play through.

maybe you should add some shadows or a figure that''s hard to see when you update it. the game just gave me never ending goosebumps and a couple jump scares. that part where the voice was like "be carefuls of the shadows or it will kill you" i couldnt see jack shit.. if there was something put in the game that gave me the feeling that my life was threatened, this would jump from a 6 to a 9 in my opinion.

i cant get past the kitchen chair.. the stool is inside the chair now and it doesnt help me reach the key...

also i have to completely delete and extract the game every time i play otherwise i cant pick up the flashlight.. but that might be my computer

Thank you for the feedback. We will be getting the kitchen chair and stool fixed (we are just waiting till we get everything patched up), which will probably take a few more days.

I do not know why you have to delete and extract the game every time you play because everyone that has played the game, especially with our QA staff, we haven't ran into that kind of problem, but we will check it out.
