Sphere is based on a dream I had during the summer of 2010. I dreamed I was in a Toys R Us in the wake of an apocalypse. As I roamed the dilapidated aisles, I come across some balloons. These balloon turn any item they touch into another balloon. Then the balloons caught sight of me and started to chase me. I had a pistol with me and started to shoot the balloon. In addition to being small, the balloons required 4-5 shots each to pop. I only had 6 bullets with me. Not wanting to turn into a balloon myself, I ran. I tricked the balloon by running through corners and sliding under it (it was fairly slow). Unfortunately, one balloon started to engulf the others and formed into one large balloon. At that point I ran towards the exit to my car before the entire store would be consumed by the balloon. When I got into my car, I had a premonition that the Toys R Us would soon be left in ruins and the massive balloon slowly making its way to the nearby buildings.
