Typocalypse 3D is a typing-shooter game where you take the role of Bud, the army guy, who was assigned to single-handedly defend the stranded army barracks in the middle of nowhere.
To protect your barracks, you need to gun down the constant waves of zombies by, strangely enough, typing the words above their heads.
There are 4 POWERUPS in the game and a SECONDARY SNIPER WEAPON, so make sure to make good use of them if you want to prevail and make it to the leaderboards!
Type…for your life!
Type the words above the zombies’ heads using nothing but your hands and keyboard.
Collect the powerups by destroying the crates that are periodically supplied.
These are the keys to activate the powerups:
- TAB – Sniper Weapon
- 1 – Slow Time
- 2 – Landmines
- 3 – Rapid Fire
- 4 – C4

Often, when lying in my bed at night, I drift off to sleep to the chorus of machine guns firing at a steady rate. I’m not in a war zone, nor am I located near an extremely busy firing range. It’s the constant natter of flesh against plastic that causes this droll sound to invent itself in my head at night. If you haven’t caught on yet, it’s the sound of typing. This action is something I do every day, and so I’m very familiar with the sound it creates – a kind of “ra-ta-ta-ta-ta.” So, to me, the idea of punching out letters and having them transform into bullets feels like a very natural step. This may go some way to explaining why it is that writers enjoy typing games so much. What’s funny is that we like to consider ourselves badass when starting up a typing game. It goes something like: “It’s alright, people; I’ve got this. Step back; I’m a writer.”
