So in your opinions, would this better be a ladies game or a gents game?
Sounds fair enough, I understand why it's a simple concept and there are plenty of great games with simple concepts, what I meant for that to come across as was that, for the simple concept that it is, there isn't too much more you could've done for it.
Look forward to any future games of yours then, whether they be big or small. Keep me noted; feel free to post on my profile or something if you've come up with a new game. :D
I didn't end up getting far in to the game as I only played it briefly for the sake of giving you some constructive criticism, however, I did find that having to restart the game every time you died was a little tedious. Perhaps there could be a way around that - I'm not saying that every time you die you should respawn on the same screen as that'd make the game too easy (especially seeing as that I didn't find the precision needs too challenging), but perhaps you could give three lives before having to restart after dying or something? That depends on how long this game is though; seeing as that I didn't complete the game I'm unsure if that'd be suitable.
A few other minor issues that I'd like to point out is that at the beginning of the game on the first level where it explains the game and how to play, the timer is actually already counting down before you've even begun playing. This means that if you want to read the instructions, you would have to play or otherwise risk the timer running out before you've even started. It's a minor issue, though perhaps you could make it so that the timer doesn't start counting until you have begun moving?
Also, it would have been nice if the character was more than just a silhouette, but that's really not too much of an issue.
All-in-all, the game could use a little work, but even if you do so the game is such a simple concept that it wouldn't be too amusing for very long anyway. Still, it has some potential and you clearly have potential as a developer.
Hope this has helped a little.
Firstly I would like to address the simple concept. I am a budding game developer studying games design. Therefore, I'm starting small before I actually go on making bigger games (with many complicated stuffs). That is why the concept is so simple to start with.
About the restart after every lost, it is meant to be that way because I only design a couple of levels for this game because I am submitting this for a competition (at Experimental Gameplay Project) and it requires people to design games within 7 days. Also, I’m pretty busy with school so this is the standard I could begin with when designing under the limits of that 7 days. Another reason of the restart is because, I wanted the death to be punishing enough so that the users would have to go through it again and at the same time, improve their skills in maneuvering through the mazes. Therefore, what I’m trying to say is; if the player finds the level of the maze he is at too difficult and he died, he would have to replay the levels before it again and at the same time improve his skills so that when he come to that level again, he would know what his past mistakes were and also his skills would be better this time round. The last reason is that, this is hell. It’s punishing. So is it wrong if you die in hell and have to go through the ‘torture’ all over again just to ‘get out of hell’? This itself could be a story for the game. *Some real spoilers here*
For the time, yea. Alright I fixed it. I never thought that would be a problem to some people. I actually wanted people to play while reading it …. But it doesn’t work out that way in reality doesn’t it?
For the silhouette part, well, you’re in hell, burned, so.. yeah… you’re toast.
