PlanIt
By junhalestone - Added On 4/20/2012
PlanIt is a Work in Progress game. Please send through any feedback or ideas you have, and bear this in mind when rating the game. Thank you.
There is now a full tutorial in-game, for controls and more.
The Game:
The game begins by procedurally (randomly) generating a planet. This is where your game will take place.
You must then level up and collect materials in order to (rebuild your spaceship [coming soon]).
Materials:
Materials range from wood, to bone, to gold. You can find basic materials lying about on the planet. However, some are harder
to find. These can be obtained by killing enemies, chopping trees or by mining.
Items:
Items range from weapons to tools and rocks. They can be wielded and used to attack creatures, or kept and stored for their materials.
An item's material type and quantity is displayed when you pick it up.
You can deposit items in you inventory (right side of the screen) by pressing 'E' while wielding it. The item can then be: dropped (left-click the item); wielded (right-click the item); or deposited in the base (drop while near the base).
Pressing 'Q' simply drops the item where you are.
Experience:
Experience (Exp) can be gained by killing creatures, mining or chopping trees. It is displayed in the top left of the screen.
When enough Exp is collected, a Level Up occurs. This means your level increases by one, the Exp resets to zero and more exp is
needed for the next Level Up. Skill Points are also acquired. These can be spent on stats by pressing 'I' or entering the base.
Hit Points determine the damage you can take; Speed determines movement speed and Strength determines the weight of items you can lift.
Crafting:
Crafting is the creation of tools and weapons inside the base using collected materials. To craft an item:
Enter the base.
Click 'Craft'.
If the desired item is grey, you cannot craft it.
Collect the necessary materials and deposit them in the base.
Check the desired item's stats.
Make sure your strength is high enough.
Click on the item to craft it.
It will be deposited in your inventory.
Tools and More...
Tools work in the same way as weapons.
Swing a pickaxe at a rock full of ore to mine it. Swing a wood axe at a tree to chop it.
Wooden items can be set alight in the fires scattered about.

Work on PlanIt restarting

Customization will hopefully also play a major role. (And with procedural generation, no two play throughs will ever be the same)
Anyhow, the game looks great this far and I'm looking forward into seeing how it will turn out. By the way, when i pressed "1", the game crashed and I got some C++ error message.
Hmm... thanks for the error report. However, I will be building the game from the ground up. Hopefully all of these odd errors can be eliminated.
I'm remaking it from scratch with a better engine, starting in 3 weeks!
Thanks for the feedback - stay tuned.
If you liked the game, stay tuned, and please read the news section and leave suggestions. I'm restarting work in a few weeks.
But please leave any ideas or suggestions you have!
Thanks.

It's only ver0.25 an there's a good reason why they keep coming, just didn't implement it :(
Please read the news article for news about this game's progress. Thanks for the feedback :)
Was there an error message given?
I'm not sure, sorry :/
I never implemented a way of retrieving the exact items, sorry. However, the materials from the axe should add to the base at least :)
(This game is ver 0.25)
I can fix that easily, but it will probably be a day until I upload it. Please try again then - thanks!
