Sorry, this is a kind of old game and I didn't take darker monitors into account when I made it. Have you tried maxing the brightness and contrast on your monitor?

AWESOME! As a gamer, the game is awesome! As a developer, the game, made with GM, is even MORE awesome! The cammera can be a bit annoying, but, man, a GREAT old school 3d survival horror which really gives you the feeling of "omg there's a <<thing>> chasing me and I have nothing to fight it!"?? Bought!

I attempted to play this game, but spent too much time trying to find the door. Once I had found it and unlocked it, I couldn't even go through it. It's far too dark.

That'd odd, nobody else had that problem. Perhaps it's your monitor? Thanks for playing, anyway.

Have to play it a bit more, got up to the zombie part and it seems pretty cool so far. The atmosphere is really strong, the ambient drones/music fit perfectly. Got to say though, the foot step sounds really kill the mood for me, I think realistic ones would be a lot better. I definitely noticed the work you put into the camera, very cinematic. A 2x or stretched full screen mode would be nice because sometimes it is a little hard to tell where you're going when it's so small.

I know it's a stylistic choice but the character art seemed a little childish for the tone. I don't so much mean the blockiness, more the color palette and facial features. If the textures were all desaturated a bit and the face made blank I think it would feel much more haunting.

A really nice game you've made here, good job. It works very well, and I always like mystery games. The darkened situations and the sudden noise when a monster comes towards you made me scared, good job on that :D. Overall a nice game, but it can be slow paced at some times, and the camera can get a bit annoying in some places.

Thanks very much :) I know what you mean about the camera. That's the thing I've spent the most time trying to improve, and it's definitely a lot better than it was in the original engine.

first attempt: NO clue how to leave the first room. I click on everything that provides text, i used the items on them, and there's no door that i can see. worse, i can't see the office walls, so half the time i'm lost in blackness and can't even orient myself. even tried walking along the walls and clicking, and found nothing.

second attempt: decided to give it a second go, and tried walking along the walls and clicking for hidden stuff again. found the door by pure luck. shouldn't be this hard to locate something important (like a door) or basic (like a door). i could see it adding to the atmosphere and gameplay if i had to use a flashlight to spot important things in the dark. but as it is, creepy atmosphere or not, you'll probably discourage lots of first-time players from giving this a chance -- especially if the gameplay resembles trying to find one's car keys after dropping them in a large house during a power out.
