It was completely amazing... then I got to the knight battle. Putting aside the fact that I suck with the sword, and died the first time, it seemed great. I had saved at the inn, walked back to the town where I fought the knight. He ran through his quick intro, except he wasn't anywhere on screen. When he finished talking he charged in from the left, but we were separated from each other by an unseen wall. I could not continue left to fight him, and neither could he. I could freely walk away to the right, and if I went back into the room the same thing would happen. I would look into this...
Other than that bizarre problem and a little trouble with the ladders, this game deserves 5 stars.Reply -

Very good game, I liked the retro graphics =).
I don't know if it only happens with me, but when I pressed X on the sign of the Inn, my computer restarted =/.

First of all, the title "Sword of Legends", is also the working title of the RPG I'm making, so I got to like this. And I do! I haven't played very far yet but already have plans for tomorrow for this game, but heres my, let us say, first impression:
Graphics superb, the likes of which I've rarily seen in a GM game. Sound was good too. But gameplay wise I encountered these issues: ladders. Did you intend for the little guy to fall off the ladder half the time? I encountered this both when switching room but also when reaching the top of the ladder. Please look into this, epsecially if you intend us to jump from ladder to ladder above spikes. I also found combat to be slightly lacking in it's greatness. It's hard to time the attack perfectly when the enemies are randomly changing direction. I feel I'm being punished not for beng a bad gamer but for no reason at all. Which is bad and slightly frustrating. Also, have you considered enabling the use of yoystick? Remembering which is X and which is Z is difficult for some people. *ahem* me.
That's all I can think of right now, wait - maybe for the inventory let it remember what page you were on, because it's not very motivating as it is, what with having to switch item in a sub sub sub sub... page constantly. You have all of the keyboard - maybe save num keys for shortcut to recently used items so you don't have to do that. OK, everything not mentioned was fantastic. The end. -

Ladders have been fixed since this early demo build and custom controls will be implemented before the next release as well. The enemy's shouldn't change direction randomly though? Unless your talking about the free play mode, which was only for testing purposes anyway. They basically only change to face you when you strike them with your sword. The damage radius of the sword has been extended as well though, so it should make a lot easier. Cheers.

Very nicely done.The gameplay is smooth.The story is pretty good and the graphics are nice.This game deserves a 5.I cant wait for the finished game.

We're currently working on the game at the moment, polishing it up and adding more content. Probably about 30 minutes of game play at the moment, with 2 mini bosses done. It's coming along nicely!

Wow, I'm shocked at how well done this game is! Great story line, emersive environments , hidden treasure. Extreemly smooth and responsive controls. Character animation is fantastic.The music is perfect for a "RPG" . The sound effects are very nice and mesh very well with the game. The first boss encounter took me a couple moments to figure out, but I finally prevailed. The first boss animation was fantastic , I did not expect this level of quality ! It just blew me away. Full screen is a big plus in my book, and with a little bit more polish this game could rival some of the big side scrolling rpg's . Thank you for uploading this.
