Lead four heroes and their teams against the evil forces of Mephistocles, the Lord of Demons in this retro-RPG adventure.  Toggle between the four heroes as you explore dungeons, ascend towers, spelunk caves, save villages and defeat the forces of evil!  Reminiscent of classic RPGs such as Dragon Quest III and Final Fantasy V, Hero's Realm is a fun romp in old-school RPG nostalgia.

Highlights:
-22 character classes (12 base classes, 4 hero classes, 3 secret classes, 3 master classes)
-TONS of game content and sidequests
-Classic NES-era and SNES-era RPG gameplay
-Great music
-Multi-party switching system (like Kefka's Tower in FFVI!)
-Multi-party tactical battles (at least 5 of them!)
-Massive world map
-Fun

The story is split into 5 chapters, with each of the first four chapters focusing on a new hero, and the 5th chapter bringing them all together.

Chapter 1: Won't Somebody Please Think of the Children?
Chapter 2: There is Something Fishy Going on...
Chapter 3: Land of the Rising Son
Chapter 4: True Calling
Chapter 5: The War on Terror

This game has a lot of depth and provides hours of entertainment. I recommend this to anyone who likes Zelda type RPG's. An area needing improvement is the font. Its kind of hard to read sometimes.

Actually, that's the fault of the engine! I am uploading the fonts that the engine is hardwired to use. Hopefully this fixes it for you.

I love everything about this game, it feels very professional. After experimenting for a few, I've decided on a few character classes that are definitely worth it. My favorite being the Halequin, then the Shapeshifter. I find myself wishing more RPG's had classes like this because they're really useful. Running around finding Medals, is so fun. Awesome job! I recommend that everyone should try this game out.

I didn't see many custom graphics... I'll try it out later, though. It looks like a fairly large game world.

Holy crap! That map is huge! Seems like some complicated character classes, too. I will definitely have to check this baby out. Thanks for adding the game to the site, by the way! Hope you like it here.

An amazing RPG that kept me hooked till I finished it...and re-began.
Each one of the four first chapters introduces you to a hero who is given a quest to achieve. every hero has his own skills and statistics, and you must choose and name his or her companions, their gender and their classes ( 12 regular classes and two hidden ones.) All the classes are great, each one in it's own manner, with various and carefully balanced skills. I can tell for sure, because I tried all of them, except the Templar, the first time I played.
When you reach the fifth chapter, your 4 teams are available, and you can switch from one to another, at your will. In some dungeons, you have to make them work together, each one opening the way for the others.
As soon as you reach the fifth chapter, you have access to a giant world map, with more and more places to visit, secret places and hidden surprises.
The game is beautiful. The FFV sprites have been reworked a bit, each class having both male and female forms. The enemies all come right from FFVI, and the tiny medals from Dragon Quest, but even if I know those games in depth, I never had the feeling of playing a copy.
The towns are incredibly detailed, with a lot of houses where you could live, crowded with NPC, full of hidden items, and though all is fluid: no lagging, even with my old comp.
There are a lot of secret places and items, secret merchants, hidden areas where enemies give stat boosting items, and so on. Finding all the 100 Ti

I might've only played this game up to the end of Chapter 2, but I am loving this game. If you appreciate tradition RPG gaming at all then you basically have to play this.
