- Game Overview
Grief is a puzzle platformer in which you take the role of a young girl struggling to find clarity within the depths of her own mind. The game features twenty levels, starting off easy but quickly growing quite challenging.
The main feature of the game is that you switch between optimism and pessimism to solve puzzles. The girl's abilities will be improved/restricted depending on which state you are currently in.
Alongside the basic OP/PS engine, there are a number of obstacles that both aid and hold you back. You must use them to their fullest potentials in order to complete each level.
The tutorial is integrated, and you'll learn along the way. However, there are some in-game options such as B, N and M to turn on/off particles, sfx and music respectively. PRESS 'R' TO RESTART THE CURRENT LEVEL. Escape pauses the game, for when you need to go do... other things.
Grief has two endings, depending on whether or not you complete a certain act within the game. Play time is about 1 to 1 1/2 hours, depending on your puzzle talent.

I've been meaning to play this for ages. And it definitely was worth the wait. Graphics are really professional, and the game runs nice and smoothly on faster computers. It's really clever how you portray emotions and how they adapt the level around you. Excellent work to all of you.
But I must say, that soundtrack is absolutely amazing.

Guess I'm missing something because I didn't see any instructions on what was going on.
It seems more like a platform/arcade rather than a puzzle.
It runs S-L-O-W and I even had to move the little girl just to Exit the game.
On a good note, The programming looked EXCELLENT!
Graphics were clean and the game ran fine (if you overlook the speed)
Sound was perfect for the game.
Nice Work.

Spam, really? Anyways another suggestion, the ability to go back and play previous stages after you've beaten them. This debunks the whole saving feature and a lot of puzzle platformers do this.

Interesting thought there. It briefly passed through my head, but I never mentioned it to the team.
Thanks for the feedback!

Really liking the game. Reminds me a bit of suteF and Closure, just not as dark an atmosphere. I know it was left out intentionally, but I do wish it would save my progress at least after completing a stage. Sometimes it takes a good little while to figure out these puzzles and you need a break afterward you know?

GG's a bit slow and.... Whoa, I really have to use my brain when playing this game XD

Sorry, that's this odd bug. Try reinstalling the game? I dunno, one of our team members had this problem too, but it fixed itself when he downloaded the latest version.

Double reply ftw: (Gamejolt, where is your remove comment feature)
You could also try turning off particles, to see if it's your computer that's lagging.

I'm just complaining about the speed of GG...
