Probability Zero is a fun little downwards platformer in which you utilize the abilities at your disposal, either starting with a handful of points to spend or collecting them along the way (to great potential totals).
The game features randomly-generated levels that go on for ever and ever while continuing to provide interesting challenges.

The Character is about 140cm tall (4'7"). Which is to say he's rather short. He usually slouches so he looks even shorter. His abilities of note are his jump height (over 3m) and his ability to survive a fall up to 7.5m, although any further and he will hurt himself.

If you play this game, expect not to do well the first... many times around. You're going to die, and you're going to die a lot -- 'tis only my hope that in these deaths you find fun, and slowly, that these deaths find themselves taking longer and longer.

If you want to play this game on a system other than Windows, a .pyc (compiled Python) file is included. You will require Python 2.6.2, Pyglet 1.1.4, PyAudiere 0.2, and NumPy 1.4 (later versions of any of these, except Python, may work). I'm sorry it's such a hassle, but there's no other way for me to do this without access to a computer of an alternate system :(

I downloaded this a while ago from the thread on TIGSource, and I guess I didn't realize it was on Game Jolt, so I came here to give it a rating.
I don't know what to say about it specifically, but... it's a very nice game!

I would suggest updating your video driver!

"glMultiDrawArrays is not exported by the available OpenGL driver. VERSION_1_4 is required for this functionality."

I imagine your video driver is kinda old and doesn't have a new enough version of OpenGL? Or maybe it's too new. I don't know how OpenGL works D: I just use it.

Also, an idea for a cool powerup - a jetpack with a limited supply of fuel.

Enemies could drop fuel with the pickup queue and stuff, but it would make descents and climbs much easier.

I'm not telling you to add it, just brainstorming here :)

I was playing 0.99 when I got the bug with seeing an impassible line of blocks. I also managed to break the high score list on 0.99 by scoring 43897/3.039 km, but I see this has also been fixed in 1.05. The new version feels about 30% faster to me, which makes the gameplay a bit more hectic.

The core gameplay is pretty solid, but in many occasions I ended trapped in frustrating impossible to get out alive places.

That doesn't mean the game deserves a 2, does it?

Awesome game. I love the atmosphere and the graphic style with that retro vibe on it. Just I think the gameplay music takes a little before it gets to the most interesting part but its a really good game overall. :)

Thanks, EmeraldHawk -- that really means a lot to me :D

With a more businesslike tone I'd like to ask which version of Probability 0 you've played? The newest version, 1.05, should have fixed that problem but I don't really have a good way of confirming that without lots and lots of rigorous testing :)

Signed up to say I really enjoyed the game, and I'm a little surprised it hasn't gotten more attention. It's definitely my favorite procedurally generated game since Spelunky. I play with a gamepad using Xpadder, my favorite gamepad-to-keystroke program.

My only criticism would be the times (in 3% of games or so?) when solid black blocks and spikes completely block all downward progress, meaning certain death unless you've bought the punch solid blocks perk.
