Very, very nice platformer. The level design and gameplay is awesome! I do agree with Link3000 that sometimes fighting is a bit annoying, but it's not a huge deal.

I never knew; it didn't click in my head that you were *that* Banov.
Assassin Blue is currently tied for 1st with Iji as my favorite GM game of all time. There was something instantly nostalgic when I played it for the first time that I still feel is the gold standard for games. It could be the story, the smooth gameplay, the interesting challenges, the memorable graphics and music, even the bosses. Any one of those could be considered this game's outstanding feature because, let's be honest, this game is just really that good. At least in my eyes.
All the characters were well developed, and they integrated into the game's plot seamlessly. There were no 'wait; how did that work?' moments in the game because of how well everything fit together. In addition to having such a memorable plot, the actual gameplay was so fluid that it could get at least a 4/5 from me just from that one factor.
I think the only downside to this game is the AI, and even that is overlookable and okay depending how you see it. The enemies react in a regular fashion, and while it takes a little while to coordinate your actions with those reactions, it becomes very de-ja-vu while fighting. This especially annoyed me while fighting bosses, who really should be the most dynamic of all the characters, the most fluid, the most remarkable and memorable, because they earn the title of 'boss'. Instead, they dash, they jump, they flip the shit out all over you, but in a static way. They'll dash, then pause giving you the right time to attack. The thing I dislike about this style of boss-fights, while a common type, is that they don't have you plan your own actions. You dodge until they tell you when you should attack. An example of a good boss fight, in my mind, is the Meta Knight fight from Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland. I kept a save file dedicated to fighting him again and again. Meta Knight would dash, slice, and uppercut you like hell, again and again, but after doing so, he woul -

Ahh, GJ cut me off.
...he would re-examine the situation and either break into another attack or block. The fight was actually difficult because of how you had to trick him to give you openings to damage him. Again, though, this is just my opinion. Lot's of people love these kinds of fights.
The reason I wrote such a long review is because I have amazingly fond memories of this game, and I feel like whatever I wrote when I reviewed/commented it on YoYoGames wasn't enough. You must be a pretty cool guy to make this game.

The unlockables got me going. Simple, great difficulty curve.

I loved this game! It has a nice (not great, but consistent and pleasing) graphic style, it´s entertaining and challenging (but not difficult), it has very good music and more than adequate sound effects and, above all, it´s FUN! The downsides have all been mentioned before (corners, dialogue, too short etc...) and shouldn´t put anyone off playing this little gem of a game...

Man, one of the best platforms. Quality stuff there. The storyline is neat, as well the gameplay. Awesome in every aspect. Keep it up!

This game could have benefited a lot by simply not having a plot. The game is super easy (I died 3 times, twice to instant death traps and once against red for some reason), and combat is almost good, but ends up being either too simple or semi random. Basically block into a counter attack beats everything. The boss battles were almost really good but just didn't quite make it.
Graphics style is good and besides for some control shakiness (like with the corners), the game felt fine, other then climbing moving at an extremely bore inducing pace. Still fun. The last levels played out well enough. Still a good game, abet a flawed one. Would definitely play a sequel in the hopes that it was addressed. -

Great game! I would say the only downside was the art wasn't that great. Music was good, gameplay was fun, and the story was interesting (although a bit dorky.)

A truly incredible game. I've seen this game floating around a couple places, and now I regret not playing it then. The graphics are great. The animations in particular are fantastic. Gameplay is fun and relatively easy to get used to. Music is outstanding and fits the game beautifully. One of my favorite aspects is the cinematic ending to boss battles. Very cool. Only problems are, like others have mentioned, the dialogue, and a collision issue with corners, but that's more than forgivable for such a great game.

A absolutely great game. Only problem is that the Story and Dialog are horribly cliche and the dialog itself isn't very well written.

Cool game! It was a little easy and a bit short, but I liked the story, gameplay, and music! It was well made, I wish I could make something that good. (I'm very new to the world of game development.)
