Ash - I know.. I was hoping it would be one of those open-ended ones that creates arguments over the interpretation.

It's also really hard to innovate on weapons without doing really abstract stuff that I currently cannot do in C# without blowing my mind into a couple hundred pieces.

Well, I really shouldn't have made my first entity-based game be for a 10-day competition. I keep hitting snags along the way and having to do sloppy work-arounds to avoid delays. Hopefully I'll put out something, even if the game isn't close to what I had intended.

Am I the only one making a game for this? Nobody except me has said anything in days.

Oooh, wow. That image scares me and pops so many questions into my head. I can only imagine what kind of game you're making.
-
That looks really neat, Link. Huzzah for cold war?
-
Just a thermonuclear war of any sort. You can change the level data in a file and the map data in other files. DC and Moscow just sort of fit :P
-
Okay, this is actually sort of bull. What is up with this contest? No progress updates at all. Chat takes no interet in it. Scheduled over a fairly important school week. Who is going to post an entry?
-
I will. I've been in finals week (like others it seems) so my progress on it has slowed. I'll still be able to finish.
EDIT:
To add, my game is a 2D space shooter with the twist that your warp ability costs shield but deals huge damage. You can also pick up dropped weapons for a limited-use powerful ability that stacks exponentially for up to three pickups.
I currently need to tighten the controls and reduce max speeds because dogfights with fighters are hell. Making the charge more powerful might negate this problem though. I also need to add more important particle effects like one that signifies whether the enemy has its shield operational... and of course explosions.

I will be entering the competition. I am currently polishing the parts I have finished and then if I have time, I'll add the whole separate gameplay element that I didn't think I would have time for. The game itself is good as-is, but the remaining gameplay element would add so much more.

I'm sorry, but I won't be able to enter. A lot of stressful stuff has been coming up along with finals, so I really just haven't been in the mood to do much of anything lately, let alone design a game. :/

I gave up on getting a screenshot of a successful warpkill, so I took one where I got a warpkill just off to the left of the screen instead.

Controls feel pretty good now. Time to add content.

By the way for 3rd place I'll add in one copy of Portal (1).

How do we submit the game? Do we just upload it to GameJolt and post a link here?
