Guys please only post real rules from here on out. It was funny at the start but now a useful topic is being overrun.
Brod, maybe what you can do is pull things into your OP that you think are worthy of being on the list. And people can recommend through the posts.
#36 Make games that are fun for everyone.
Unlike most games with gore and language and sexual content.
That isn't exactly a "rule"
Especially since with indie games you can do what you want.
OK first post updated with some sweet rules.
#37 Add some news for your game
And make sure that news is interesting, but not obnoxiously so.
#38 ADD AN ADVERTISEMENT FOR MY GAMES ON YOUR GAME
#39 TAKE GOOD SCREENSHOTSSS

#40 Don't make a copy of a game
Nobody likes to see remakes (usually ending up to be demakes) of NJBJ or other popular games. Find something original, and stick to it.
#41 tell people about your game off of the internet
You don't have to advertise only online, assuming you have friends you can tell them about your game.
#42 promote your game in advance
You should try to get some attention to your game before you release it that way you can get more plays when you actually do release the game.
sorry about bumping an old topic, I just think that this topic will be helpful to developers.
